crysis ran fine few months ago, but when i installed it today and played it, it kept pausing every few seconds. it didn't help when i lowered the settings to the lowest...
i have core 2 duo with 8800gt.. the point is, it ran fine few months ago.

edit: i've tried updating drivers, but it doesnt help. i've also checked the temp, but its at 68min~75 max, which is pretty good.
i've checked the CPU usages, and it goes up to 100% when im freezing during games.
strange thing is, assassin's creed is smooth. games like: crysis and l4d and l4d2 keeps freezing for few seconds.
what's going on here all of a sudden?

What programs have you installed on the system since then, and have you updated your drivers?

Try monitoring hard drive and processor usage while you are playing the game, see if it is spiking when the pauses are happening. It would not hurt to monitor RAM usage as well.

this kinda seems like a temperature problem, but i don't know that much about hardware..... It may also be a driver problem

Try HWmonitor from CPU-ID, and then tell us what your temps are. If temps are normal, try updating drivers

Sometimes, the cause of frame drops / stuttering in Crysis on laptops have been identified as intellaptopgaming.dll polling every 5 seconds or so to read battery and wifi levels. For some, stuttering disappeared after removing their battery and playing on mains with wifi disabled. Doing that will let you know if that is the root of the issue or whether it is something else.

I found that there was a lot less stuttering after upgrading to Windows 7.

We contacted the Crysis Devs about this and they reminded us that Crysis was not supported on laptops

I wonder how many Crysis sales are because of those unsupported laptops.
