just patched crysis warhead and noticed 64bit executable (on vista 64).
does this run any faster that 32 bit? what are the advantages?

From what others have reported, the memory usage is more efficient hence performance is slightly better than the x86 equivalent all other things being equal.

mayber 5fps increase and you will be able to disable texture streaming.

but most of the programs are not compatiable with 64 bit. Especially which doesnot have a digital signature.

just to revive this thread as i am trying this on a clean, stripped down windows 7 64-bit now.
on laptop in my sig, would 64-bit DX9 version give me best results?
i know i cannot change games from 32 to 64 bit after i have started. i am casual gamer so will take me several weeks to complete.

I was just yesterday trying to get Crysis War 64 bit DX10 to run on Windows 7, which was a no-go, it just kept on crashing.

So far I have tried dx9 and dx10 on 32 bit. Be careful with CCC and switching from dx10 to 9. My game started freezing. So I am now using CCC lvl 4.x (whatever it is called) and it works smooth like buttah! I am not playing at native rez so please dont raise the B$ flag on me. However, the game looks great and runs great. When I last installed CWH on Vista I was unable to get CWH64 to work correctly. It would freeze or not change resolutions correctly. So it is up to you. My guess is that you will have to play around for a while to get it to work how you like it. Best Wishes,
    StevenX

I've spent quite a bit of time trying to get Crysis and Crysis: Warhead 64-bit executables to work, but they always crash with a black screen. They simply do not work.

i will give 64-bit a try first. has anyone got a 64-32 conversion so i can swap?

The 64bit, DX9 mode is the fastest version of Crysis and Warhead. :)

I tried them all out whilst playing the games through, and although the difference 32vs 64bit isn't HUGE it is there (3-5fps average extra)

Played both of them through DX9 64bit as it was perfectly playable even at 1080p, which cant be said for DX10, and 64 was a decent enough improvement.

If its not working for you, either it's not loading properly (try alt-tabbing in and out), needs to be clicked as it hasn't become the focused application properly, or there's a problem somewhere in your software config/drivers.

If you don't play on easy I'd say Warhead is probably 5-15 hours or so, dependant on how you play and how often you die!
