Hey guys,
I do have pretty good understanding of computers (how work/built) so feel free to use jargain with me.... ive just been bogged down with school for literally years haha so i am a little out of the loop in regards the new technology, when comming out etc
I am looking at getting an hp most likely (mainly because i will be working at staples again this summer and will have that "huge" discount lol.. well better than nothing)... will they ever have anything better than the 8400 gs in their 15 inch screen comps?... for gods sake right... even i know that that is no good for gaming (got one with that in it for my sis last summer ... so i dont have any complaints tho for normal usage at all)
so ya... ive been out of the gaming scene so im looking for something that will be good for the newer games... ive bought some like fear/perseus mandate, crysis, call of juarez.... and would like to play them on good quality... ive been dousing my gaming urges with fear multiplayer on a intel gma desktop haha...
so ya ill be needing a laptop for school so i figure get one i can game with too- can be any brand if its a good good deal but looking forward to hp cuz of instore $$ saving and brick and mortar store psychology that affects me
.... well to sum up im just wondering if better cards like 8600 or 8800 will be in 15 inch hps and if theres any good info out there on the 9 series..
thanks all

Umm chances are the consumer hp laptops will not get 8600's or 8800's in their laptops anytime soon. On the other hand, If satples can get you a discount form the hp store, their buisness model 15 inch laptops have the hd2600 in it which is the ati equivalent to an 8600.

I'm pretty sure the pavillion series carries the 8600M GS, it should be able to handle those games decently.

only the 17inchers carry the 8600GS

Some of the HP business notebooks have great GPUs. The 15" 8510p carries a GPU probably 50% more powerful than the 8600GS (read: probably), and the 17" 8710p has what is equivalent to the 8700GT...that plays Crysis for sure
.
