So, everyone knows the most important part of vbios is the timings which is why ddr2 bios on a ddr3 card is a horrible idea and vice versa.

My main question is obviously: Has anyone successfully modded a vbios from ddr2 to ddr3 or vice versa?

Assuming no here are some sub questions:
-Are the timings you can edit in nibitor only related to the vram?
-Is the difference between ddr2 and ddr3 in vbios more than the timings we are able to edit with nibitor?

Any opinions welcome - discouragement and warnings are not ! :D

    P. S. I am NOT trying to softmod ddr2 to ddr3, I know thats impossible.

If you're talking about a GPU that has a DDR2 and a DDR3 variant, and you're trying to convert it from one to the other, I'd just find a VBIOS from the DDR3 version and replace the current VBIOS with it (after using RBE to replace the sub-vendor ID to match the current one).

If you're trying to turn a straight DDR2 GPU to a DDR 3 one....???

Yes, thats exactly what I would do if the vBIOS in question existed.
off the subject, what exactly does changing the sub vendor ID do when the vBIOS still doesn't work with certain display modes?

The reason this would be good is some systems support a card that only comes in ddr2 but not a very similar card (vbios compatible) that comes in ddr3 too.
Example: acer 5920g supports the 9650m gt but not the 9600m gt.

Nope, not trying to do anything like that on the hardware level, we've got to work on our terminology tho convert sounds like pretty much the same thing.
