i am planning to buy a m11x alienware machine. It comes in 3 processors
    1. Intel Core i5 520UM(1.06ghz to 1.88ghz max)
    2. Intel Core i7 640UM(1.2ghz to 2.2 ghz max)
    3. Intel Core 2 Duo SU7300(1.3ghz overclockable)

It has a nvidia geforce gt335m 1gb graphics card. I want to know will the core 2 duo processor be sufficient for the system performance and if not, which processor will be the best for gaming purpose.

The SU7300 should be sufficient for most games, and system performance, but those games/apps that require more CPU power will benefit from the i5/i7's. If you decide on the i5/i7's and if you don't mind the extra cost, I would go with the 640M IIRC the processors in this particular laptop are soldered into the motherboard and therefore not upgradable down the road, like it's bigger brothers.

If you decide to go with the i7-640UM, you can get a discounted configuration here: The Dell Online Store: Build Your System

If the link doesn't work, you go to the Alienware landing page, then click on the M11x on the lower banner, then click on the main banner (which will mention a free processor upgrade), then the M11x config listed at the bottom.

Sufficiency is kind of an issue; at those low speeds some games will still be CPU-limited. If you're planning on doing serious gaming with the M11x I'd consider going for the fastest processor I could get.
