The choice of hard disk drives really depends on how much data you are going to be storing or how many programs/games you want installed at the same time. For normal use, the 60gb should be enough (you can easily install a newer one later on). If you're a pack-rat, grab an 80gb or 100gb harddrive. As long as your getting one the 7200rpm drives, your games will love you :)

As for the screen, be aware that many poeple (including myself) dislike the sparkle/shimmer that can sometimes surface. If you can, I'd recommend looking at dell laptops with and without thier TrueLife option. If you see it for yourself, it takes the "will I like it?" question out of the picture. Some games may look better on the TrueLife, but if you hate the screen, you will hate how the game looks.

About the CPU, it depends. I have a 1.6ghz, which I don't think they sell anymore. It's good enough for me to play the latest games without a problem. I'd say go for the 1.73ghz or the 1.86ghz for general use, it'll make life easier. If you require alot of cpu power (usually art/sound junkies do), then you might want to look into a 2.0ghz or higher.

Make sure you don't buy more than 512mb of ram from Dell (get your ram off newegg.com or a similar site.. there are plenty of 'help me buy ram for i9300' topics in this forum).

Overall, I'd start with deciding on which screen you want. After you decide, you may want to consider how much power you want your processor to have. Definitely pick up the 256MB NVIDA® GeForce™ Go 6800 video card... no questions asked. From there, pick up a 1gb stick of ram, I'd recommend a stick of this ... current saving of 30-40 dollars as of my posting this, and you'll have the 512mb of ram to sell on eBay :)

This is simply how I'd do it, I'm sure you'll have your own priorities and opinions. Oh, and if you do order your i9300, welcome to the club :) I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoy mine! Your fragbook will demand respect from all who gaze upon it's majesty.
