Got a bit distracted, reading lots about optimus issues.

    I have a real noob q.

How do I know which GPU resources are being utilized?

Read details on how optimus works, not surprised dxdiag things intel's resources are all that are there... but what about other apps?

can other optimus users confirm if dxdiag (display> approx. internal memory) mis-reports available memory (I have a 2GB graphics card, apparently).

I've got about 40 tabs open in chrome, at least one is running youtube, one is playing a flash game I chose to run chrome with nvidia's processor, and chrome does start responding noticeably quicker than if I don't launch using the nvidia-context menu... but this never changes

    any ideas?
