    is it possible to swap this gpu (geforce 7900 gtx) for a faster one, i couldnt find any info on this

    You can maybe put in a 7950GTX. Not worth it though.

    I am pretty sure you cannot do that but Dell I think had a special program where you send in your notebook and they upgrade the graphics card for $500. But this was just a rumor I heard about. The dell Xps m1710 is not MXm so forget that factor!

    Unless the XPS M1730 or Precision M6300 uses the same type of connector, No. And even then, there's the possibility that the Mobo doesn't recognize the gpu.

    That´s right, Dell wants you to buy a new laptop not upgrade it. Same as it was for me with my XPS M170 with a 7800GTX that I couldn´t upgrade to a 7900gs, gtx.

    You can upgrade to a Go7950GTX, but as of now it doesn't look like you'll be able to go beyond that to an 8 series.

    Yea i've got the 1710 with a 7900 GS, and have been looking around online but i don;t think it is easily upgradeable. This one should last me 2 years till i need another computer tho i think.
