Not too bad, a normal respawn time is like what, 20-25 seconds? Then you just respawn and go back into battle, items and all. You don't get penalized in any way, if that's what you're asking.

Well, i should be more specific...

What does the other team get for killing you? Extra XP, extra gold?

Does the respawn time go up with your XP?

I believe that dying in this game should be looked upon the same way as dying in DOTA. I believe you gain gold and exp from killing other demigods (pretty sure that's what the manual said) plus you're out of the fight for 20-25 seconds, which is a big deal because during that time you're not gaining gold or exp while your opponent still is.

The other side gets a ton of gold and exp for killing you. The person who gets the killing blow gets the most, and everyone who assisted (damaged you) gets a bit less.

You also drop a potion upon death. Anyone who picks it up (usually the guy who just killed you since he'll be right there), gets replenished (hp, mp, or both).

Then, you're also out of the action for a significant amount of time (20+ seconds at least), not counting the time it takes you to get back into the fray.

This one is hard to drop in the usual catagories King. There are a lot of reviews up now that go into detail about it but my short version is that rather than a more typical strategy game this one is a quickly evolving think on your feet deal. As the other side develops their attack you have to modify what you are doing to counter but when I say in real time I mean right now, there is no time to contemplate. There is surprising depth even theough the basic premise if very simple. To sum it up this is a little different than anything I have done and I play across genres. I would say its not really like any of the games you mentioned. Wish I could be more helpful.
