Its not in the bios, why do you want to disable it? It allocates the memory when needed, it doesnt just eat up 192 meg on bootup I really cant imagine any benefit from disabling it, the only thing you would get would be avery small 64 meg frame buffer. Turbo cache is actually very well done, much more efficent than hyper mem, I've even seen reviews where a 64 meg 7400 outscored a 128 dedicated 7400 in several nechmarks, the difference wasnt staggering, but still impressive.

the 7400 on the dv5000 is 128m...more than enough to play the games i play.

i am running 6 virtual machines on vmware at once so 128mb of memory lost to a bad design is a lot

It appears a number of people would like to disable this, but no one has found a way. At least from a websearch. One prominent theory was that it's built into the chip, therefore unchangeable.

I'd recommend checking out Nvidia's forum at http://forums.nvidia.com/. There may be some info there.

TurboCache is indeed a hardware feature unlike ATI's HyperMemory; I do not think it is possible to disable it.

How much system RAM do you have? I would upgrade it to the maximum the dv5000t can take (2GB) if you haven't already.

Except that as said above, it's only allocated if/when it is actualyl needed. So I don't really think you need to worry.
