    hey guys
i just got a clevo with a 680m, my first gaming laptop, and id like to know a few things

    1) how can i make sure that the game is using the 680m and not the intel card
    2) i noticed that while i was playing the gpu clock was at around 400, is there a way to lock it to 720 or something like that
    3) is there any program to display gpu clocks , usage, temperature etc while playing
    thanks

i must be doing something wrong
core clock stays at 405 even when fps goes below 40, even though gpu temp does not go past 45 celcius

while brousing my 680 is 45c on nvidia inspector so something is not right there.

you can find lots of monitoring software in my sig below. download hw monitor, nvidia inspector and core temps to see what readings they give.

my gpu clocks are 719mhz while brousing. i will check soon after a quick game.

im using msi afterburner to monitor
the issue seems to be with that game only (heroes of newerth), i tried some other games and the clock went up to 720

is there any way to manually set the clocks

If you haven't done the cooling mod you should be concerned.

Check my sig for an OC tutorial (fixed clocks)

i know what you mean :) we just want to turn it on and do our thing without worying about checking this and that.

88c is ok with furmark. if you really want to test the cpu and gpu out try the intel extreme tuning utility. you should already have it loaded so type intel in search in start and run it. if you cant find it in menu its in my sig below.

    thanks for the infos guys

so if i want fixed clocks with no overclock it would be this for a 680m:

    fixed_clocks.bat
    nvidiaInspector.exe -setBaseClockOffset:0,0,0 -setMemoryClockOffset:0,0,0 -setpowertarget:0,111 -setVoltageOffset:0,0,0 -setGpuClock:0,2,720 -setMemoryClock:0,2,1800 -forcepstate:0,5

i just dont know what that -setpowertarget:0,111 does

I tried that line, but it does nothing, clocks didnt change
edit: i got it, i didnt set the min and max clocks at the program interface. Its working like a charm now, thanks a lot! HON now running at 60+ fps

as for cooling mod, i suck at anything that requires manual dexterity, and also my warranty will be void if I open my notebook, so ill leave it as it is

if you have a clevo then they are user upgradable so you wouldnt lose your warranty unless your supplier specifically says you will. where did you buy from?

you have to open your notebook every few months to clean the fans and vents out.

im from brazil, supplier name is avell.
The warranty is 3 years, im not allowed to open the notebook, but whenever i need to change something or cleaning i can take it to them and they'll do it for me.

now i got another issue, even with fixed clocks i am still getting only 16k on 3dmark06, gpu utilization seems low...
ill just watch a movie and play some HON and then ill try to figure this out...

tried beta drivers? My clocks change dynamically, they go between around 200mhz to 758mhz on my m17x.
