    like the topic says , does the current 970m/980m still have the same issue that plagued the gtx 880m?

    It doesn't seem to be happening at all in the new GPU's... 880M was a special case and was really broken.. It seems however the MSI GS60 has the 970M throttling a bit due to heat... This can be easily fixed with some nice thermal paste and a notebook cooler though...
