    does the Radeon 3200 handle HD (youtube, 720p mkv, bluray rips) well?

    I got an Acer laptop with the Radeon 3200 graphics (and AMD X2 QL62 processor).

    Just wondeirng if it'll handle the HD content in the title fine or not :)

    All decoding is always a 100% cpu based task unless your using a codec & player that supports gpu hardware acceleration.

    Even a modest core2duo can handle full 1080p with no gpu help these days.

    The machines that people are depending on hardware acceleration is netbooks and machines with sub par cpus like the timeline.

    No point chewing up 25% CPU time to decode video though when you can let the GPU handle it and have it sit at 2% though.

    A quick Google suggests the 3200 should be able to run DXVA, I'd suggest MPC-HC as a player.
