my video card is still downclocking i did a few of the guides on the net for disableing powermizer but it is still downclocking. The game will stuter for around 3 secounds and a check in riva tells me that my card has downclocked itsself by roughly half. I have now contacted dell on this problem as my warrenty only has around 75 days left and want to get this sorted before it runs out. Has anyone got any other suggestions of what it might be other than hardware.

maybe try upgrading the drivers, downgrading them to the original drivers or it might be hardware related. if nothing works, ask for a replacement.

The downclocking issue is not caused by powermizer, don't disable it. So far some drivers help the issue less consistent, but it still happens. :(

I believe that it is some sort of design flaw at this point. The weird part is that some games trigger the downclocking faster than others that can be played for hours.

Maybe its also related to temperature... hmm... who knows.

My problem with downclocking was fixed by reinstalling my drivers very thoroughly.

Eg. Uninstall drivers, boot safe mode, run driver cleaner/CCleaner, reboot, reinstall

Right click the battery icon in the bottom-right corner, go to your power plan settings, make sure it's set to "high" or something... And look in the "advanced options" to make sure the GPU and CPU are allowed to work to their highest potential. Hope this helps.

Did you try 169.04? I was the only thing that worked for me, I tryed everything else people came with. Powermiser, battery performance, under or overclocking a bit myself, a bunch more of thing..
