i downloaded the driver from Nvidia for the GTX 260m for my m15x alienware. When I try to run the installation by screen goes blank and stays blank until I re-boot. I have tried several times but no luck. the driver from the alienware site works fine but's it's over a year old. any ideas and also is it even worth up-dating it?

there was a major cockup on nvidia's website last week. they posted 32bit drivers on the 64bit link.

after contacting nvidia this page is now correct NVIDIA Driver Downloads - Advanced Search

tbh the best drivers ive ever used with the 9800GT and 260GTX cards was 186.81 which are a couple of years old now but imo still the best for the 260
