I need to know what i should be looking for in a laptop. i know the dual cards will beat out the 9800m gtx, but im curious as to which laptops on the market have SLi 9800m's.
im looking to spend 2,200 to 2,400 on a new desktop replacement, help me out guys.

The only laptop i know with SLI 9800 it's alienware m17x and dell xps M1730 but this one have 8800gtx anyway thei are the same.

A notebook with that kind of power isn't really... very portable anymore. There's a reason they're so expensive, nobody buys them so the production cost is high. I think, though, you might as well just get a 9800M GTX, it'll be probably sufficient for all the games you want to play today anyway. By the time tomorrow comes along, you can use the money you saved to buy the next highend system.

so what do you suggest i buy to have a powerful laptop that runs the games i want to play?

try looking at the sager laptops. Can get a nice rig with those price range. I duno which card would be better but I think i'd go for the ATI.
-
M17 is pretty cheap since ATI cards costs like half the nvidia cards

Take a look at the OCZ Whitebook too. This topic has been talked to death here and in the OCZ section of the forum too. I suggest you use the search function.

OCZ whitebook is only configurable with the ATI so far, single or crossfire. That can fit in your price range if you skimp on the processor, hard drives maybe, etc. The Clevo D90/Sager 9262 can be configured with 98's in SLI, but I dont think that would fall into your price range, even if you skimp on the processor, etc. Might as well check out XoticPC, etc to see if it does though, I wouldn't know.
Also, as far as Ive heard, people are still having issues with the ATI, as many games still aren't crossfire friendly. And ATI isn't helping by having shoddy drivers. Though new ones have been released recently so that may have been fixed. I'm sure you can find some updated info and details if you look.
You might also try filling out the "What laptop should I buy" FAQ. It'll help people help you faster. -
Nah not true anymore. Since the 8.12 drivers i never had any issues with games. And i tested a lot of them

yeah the OCZ whitebook is a really nice bang for you buck.
i would suggest looking into that as well. potential upgrades to the 4870's might seem promising if you're looking for future proof hardware.
the notebook is much cheaper than nvidia counterparts, and hopefully ATI will support it much more and create drivers for it.
dual ati 3870's or 9800/ GTX?
