I have played Dungeon Siege but haven't tried Fable.

I played DS2 for like 30 hours, after that it gets boring because all the repetition for hack and slashing your way through the monsters. Its really getting old school.

The quests are long, requires you to go back and forths, and the good items drops are pretty rare. After nearing to the end, the monsters are hard to kill, its because their HP are much greater, not much of their AI.

to compare between Dungeon Siege I & II, i vote Dungeon Seige I was better.

I always use Gamespot as my source of game ratings as over the years I have discovered that their reviews and scores very accurately reflect the quality of the game. Anyway, Dungeon Siege 2 is rated at a disappointing 7.9 ( http://www.gamespot.com/pc/rpg/dungeonsiege2/index.html?q=dungeon siege) while Fable The Lost Chapters is rated at 8.6 ( http://www.gamespot.com/pc/rpg/fablethelostchapters/index.html?q=fable).

I have only played Dungeon Siege, and I have to say it was a very poor game. Dungeon Siege 2 is rated even lower on Gamespot, which is why I never even thought about getting it. Fable TLC on the other hand was a highly addictive RPG with a good storyline and great gameplay, I would recommend Fable over Dungeon Siege anytime.

thanks. i think fable, from even the screenshots looked like an overall better produced game. I just wanted to know if dungeon siege was anything like Diablo II. I'm hoping they are in the works to produce a new diablo.

Dungeon Siege is nothing like D2. In Dungeon Siege, you control a team whose actions are mainly controlled by AI. So, no matter how fast you click, your characters will only attack at a set speed and automatically use the one weapon or magic you have selected. It doesn't require any skill on the player's behalf, other than selecting the correct skills and equipping the best items before battle, and occasionally changing the enemy target or magic or weapon in mid battle. Dungeon Siege is in my opinion a simple 3D point and click game.

I was addicted to D2 for about 3 years. There are several D2 clones out there, like FATE, but none of them seem to be nearly as good in terms of gameplay and storyline as D2. Fable is a very good single player offline RPG, and I would recommend it to any RPGer.

I beg to differ. I've played Dungeon Seige 1 and Fable, and to be honest, they both were terrible! Okay, Dungeon Seige might be okay in one player, in 2 player it is just a challenge between you and your buddy to see who can grab more crap faster.

Fable is the shortest game ever, you can beat it in less than 10 hours no problem. It is an original concept, but the game was way over hyped. Lets just say I bought an XBox solely for this game and it was the most dissapointing game I've ever played because of that.

I was expecting Fable to be a revolution in games. What it came down to was a game that within a month was selling for $15.00 new on store shelves.

true. i'm playing it now and while it's entertaining, it seems the only way to prolong the game playing is level up without seeking further quests. although the PC version has additional quests, i wish fable lasted longer than 20 hrs avg.
