Hey. I'm going to be buying the HP dv6500t with the NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GS someday this week and I was wondering if I could game on it. The only game I will probably be playing is GoW when it comes out. Do you guys think it will be able to handle it?

loll I think it would be able to handle gears of war, but at the minimum settings
i've read around that the video card isn't really for heavy duty gaming .. but just for basic light gaming :]

I don't know, Gears will probably be pretty demanding. Are there any system requirements?

    It should run.

But if you can get a 8400GT or a 8600GS it will do really better

Yeah....Gears of War is definitely going to be a demanding PC game....graphically.

Look at the xbox 360 version, it looks great. With other releases like Halo 2 and Shadowrun for Windows Live that had steep requirements....I can't see how GoW will be any different.

I'm sure the 8400M GS will run it but at minimal settings.

I wish my 1520 didn't have so many problems. :(

Some guy in the HP forums said that HP's build quality is horrible. Is this true. The dv6500t looks so much more sexy then the bulky 1520.

Doesn't anyone read the READ THIS THREAD BEFORE POSTING thread or they all just seem to come and regurgitate the same information over and over ad naseum.

No offense, but there are quite a few threads on the 8400 and the 8600. If you want to see how a SPECIFIC game will perform with it you should check the minimum specs and the recommended specs and don't forget to READ THIS THREAD 1st.

    Happy gaming.
