    Hi all,

I've searched the forums regarding these issues, but haven't found any answers. I'm on a dv9500t with the 511 8600m gs, and i find that there aren't very many resolutions to choose from. For example, The only 16:10 resolutions available are 1680x1050 and 1600x1024. I'd like to go down to 1440x900 and 1280x800 for games, but i'm not able to do that. Anybody know why i'm restricted to only two 16:10 resolutions? I'm using the latest nvidia display drivers from the hp website, as the drivers from laptopvideo2go never work, and say that the drivers don't match my hardware (wtf?)

    thanks in advance.

You can almost always set custom resolutions, either by adding to the .exe by appending a -AAAAxBBBB or by modding some file. Tweakguides.com covers many of the popular games, otherwise use GOOGLE.

Strange thing is, is that i installed it on xp on my same computer, and it was a completely different ballgame....i have dual boot with vista and xp on my dv9500t, and after having issues with vista, i tried installing on xp.

In xp, all the possible resolutions are available, and i'm able to get almost twice the framerates in Team Fortress 2 at similar resolutions (i tried 1280x1024 in vista, 1280x800 in xp)....strange, no?
