    hi

    just got myself empire total war a few weeks ago.
    been playing single player battles and a little campaign.
    recently i tried to log into multiplayer, but there was nothing in the battle list. i also tried to connect to both a land and naval quick battle. but it said 'failed to connect to quick battle' after a few minutes.
    i tried to disable my antivir AV as mentioned in another forum but it didnt seem to work. i also checked my firewall to make sure ETW is allowed.
    am i missing something here? why wont it work?

    Just asking... did you buy it legitly? :)

    If not... Most pirated games dont work in multiplayer unless you go by special means to get them online which cannot be discussed on NBR :eek:

    If so... make sure the ports that the game uses for multiplayer are allowed and not blocked on your router and/or modem. ;)

    yes its legit and i found the solution.
    i had to change the country in the downloads setting of steam so i could access servers with more online matches. now i can play :D

    Do people even play those types of rts games online? Like Empire Earth back in the day and other campaign orientated rts games?

    yes they do, but mostly the quick battle mode. there are however a lot who play the campeign online.
    not everybody is into mindless shooters

    Indeed the campaign in co-op sounds like great fun! I loved the RA3 co-op campaign. I think I may have to re-install ETW.

    I'm totaly hooked to the campain. I still play rome total war ocasionaly (my new record = 2 days to complete the entire campain (medium or high dificulty, i did auto resolve the batles though). Never got into MP anyway, always to many nerds in there that can totaly trash you.
