    fallout 3 lag now, but not before??

    I have a inspiron 1520 with an 8600M GT. I played Fallout 3 through to the end last year no problems. A couple weeks ago I decided to play it again (with bad karma). It played well, until a couple days ago. The lag is so bad as to render the game unplayable. I have not installed any other software or made any changes. Why would lag suddenly appear? What is strange is the game will run fine for a few minutes and then it will get laggy.

    Since you have an 8600gt, you should check your temps.

    Sounds like your graphics card might be overheating. :(

    I have a similar problem with my 8800GTX. I usually just deal with it though, the problem usually lasts for less than a minute or 2.

    looks like overheating problem... can u give us ur temps with CPUID hardware monitor?
