Speedfan is the only one I know of. Generally, if Speedfan doesn't work, the only thing that will is a program that was made by the manufacturer. Usually if Speedfan doesn't work, the laptop is using a proprietary version of ACPI (custom made by the engineers), rather than a standard implementation.

Though if anyone has another program they know of, I would also like to know since with my laptop, I'm in the same boat.

You can use a ACPI hack through Notebook Hardware Control, but this requires a custom script. If you're lucky, someone may have already written one but if not you'll have to do it yourself ;)

Custom script eh... how would you go about figuring out to to make it work? Is making a custom script dangerous? I have a few friends who do programming for a living, maybe they can make something...

What exactly are you trying to accomplish by controlling the fan? Getting a cooling pad would help the notebook if it's running hot. Check the cooling guide.

47*C is a fairly low idle temperature. Do you already have a cooling pad?
