here are the estimated requirements for FC2. http://www.farcry2-hq.com/requirements.htm
so what do you guys think, is it on par with crysis?
im thinking that a little ess that crysis because this is gonna be out for XBOX360,PC,PS3. so it will probably require less. but knowing ubisoft , optimization might go down the drain.

it will have lower requirements however rumor has it that it may not even come out on PC... or come out on PC well after the console releases..

Ubi will prob use the assassins creed release plan if u ask me worked well for them. And its some thing EA / microsoft are also doing with the blockbuster games.
PC copy out 6-12 months after console.

when UT3 experienced 40million unique attempts to play online with a pirated copy
and Crysis is dumbed by its creators as "the most pirated game of all time"..

i really cant see ubi releasing it on PC at the same time.

I suppose m1530 will be able to handle FC2 at least on low settings. 2GB+8600 DDR3 + strong processor = pretty powerfull machine even for FC2.

So looks like the 8600m GT should capable to play it about as well as it handled Crysis.

Thanks for the info. Looks like I will be playing this on my desktop as well; my poor Sager hasn't been able to meet the minimum requirements for any of the games that have come out recently except for UT III.

Those are pretty nice requirements, even my 7950GTX is between the recommended and high requirements.
So the 8800 GTX(M or desktop) would probably handle it just fine.

Ah nice, well if I could play Crysis at 1920x1200 I see no reason Far Cry 2 wouldn´t work at native and DX10 High :)

@Magnus72, you should have no worries maxing out games at native for at least 1 year :)
I expect you to have among the best scores for FarCry2 when it will get released, considering your OCing and all :p

Free roaming area larger than Oblivion "50km" correct?

Add mods and cool side quests and you won't put this down for awhile!

    Hmm how does a 9600M GT 512 compare to a 8800GTS? :F

I like having two computers for a few reasons. For practical means, I keep two computers in case something should happen to one. On another note, I need portability so I have a laptop, and I like to play taxing games so I have a desktop for that. It's more comfortable to use the desktop, since it has a full-size keyboard, mouse, and 24" monitor. At home, the laptop is more of a secondary machine.

Same here actually, I have it so I can play games maxed out on both my rigs. Though I use my desktop for game development and especially playing LAN at home with friends. I actually have another good laptop a XPS M170 not in my sig, still peforms really good.

im sure they will release on pc at the same time as consoles since it was originally a pc game.... that would be a slap in the face to pc gamers... i just dont know if i should get it on 360 or pc... have to see what the reviews say...since ubi has gone and said no version will be better than the other (which is lame).... not taking advantage of stronger pc hardware

the big deal is the game is made by Ubisoft, which are coded like trash altough i bought every single one of them because they are engaging.
