can you post a screen shot and also tell us your computer spec and what settings youve got the game set to.

No, it happens with all Enduro laptops. There is no fix that I know of so far, other than to switch of your igpu and run on 7970m only (only if you own an AW, of course) Didn't you read about it in the FC3 thread?

its too bad people bought the np9150 and np8170. they sure got ripped off. I feel sorry for them when their machines are only good for benchmarking.

It's too bad you bricked your 8150. Now it's not good for anything.

Or are you just jealous that your POS can only run FC3 on low settings, when 7970m owners get 40+ on ultra?

actually I run dx9 and get 50fps in 3d...seems to me you have done your research, btw thats maxed with shadows low, aa off. but your the one with magic eyes.

also my POS doesn't have enduro issues and runs all games maxed in dx9. dx11 like 3 titles can't be maxed and they dont even benifit when maxing them. so my POS laptop I guess is no good for gaming when it runs all games high or maxed...vs yours that runs on hd4000 half the time

ps i can afford and get a 7970m but My POS says no because 40fps all high 1080p is fine with me

My laptop doesn't have "Enduro issues" either, but it's not like you would know considering you don't own a 7970m. With 12.11, any underutilization issues the 7970m used to have are gone. Now I'm left with a card that's roughly twice as a 6990m, but go ahead and rag on it to rationalize your jealousy lol. Running on HD4000 half the time? Yeah, it's called switchable graphics, genius, it extends battery life. And if you could afford the 7970m, you would have gotten one when you bricked your last 6990m (oh wait, dad paid for that, didn't he?) And 3 games you can't max out? lmao BS. Metro 2033, BF3, The Witcher 2, Civ 5, Far Cry 3, Hitman Absolution, Crysis 1&2 with any mods, Max Payne 3, Risen 2, Sleeping Dogs, should I keep going? Yeah, your laptop is obviously so much better than all the P150/70EMs out there.

    failwheel? whats your issue>?

My dad didn't pay for it, its called a warranty. sleeping dogs can be maxed as can crysis 2 and 1. mods>>???? are you kidding me you have to be joking right?

take some pictures demonstrating maxed vs high on those games and we shall see who was dumb to upgrade!

ps im getting a 8970m when it comes out potentially, thats if I cant run the newer game at max or high. then your 7970m will be obsolete. happens every year..

also do you think its intelligent to upgrade each time a new gpu is released?

    ps again

I run at 720p and max all those games Im hooked up to a 47 in 3d tv and sit back 10 feet...good enough for me. im happy with it...so why are you bashing me...im happy end of story

lol you're the one who came in here bashing a gpu that's twice as powerful as your old broken heap. Of course you can max those games out in low resolution. Try running Crysis 2 with MaldoHD and Quality Mod in 1080. Have fun playing in 720 and bricking your laptop again bro.

Man videocard A sucks so bad. Except for videocard B, which sucks harder. But not as bad as A. B is SO bad, amiright?

To the OP, do you have the Steam version? I've heard rumors that verifying the game cache/files on Steam fixes the issue for some people. I would try it, but I have the extremely drug resistant form of the game directly from UPlay.

Unfortunately there isn't really any difference between the Steam and Uplay versions. You still have to launch the game through Uplay either way. Gotta love Ubi :D

Oh, and a thread is never complete without without an argument about who has the better gpu. Gotta love a couple nerds getting in a pissing contest over their computer hardware lol

I think this has more to do with how Far Cry 3 is coded to be poorly optimized for AMD Enduro. Anyhow, I don't have the issue because I can turn off Enduro. :D

Aside from the shadow glitch, it runs great on my laptop. I get a consistent 35-50 fps on ultra settings and 2xMSAA.

And I'm sure the shadow glitch will be fixed soon via game patch or driver update. And not to pick on the other guy you were going out to war with but it is a no brainer to have a 7970m over a 6990m in any system. We have to enjoy the biggest mobile graphic card leap from one generation to the next. :D

I thought that perhaps some files might be modified or corrupt that could be fixed with the Steam/UPlay hybrid, but not straight UPlay. I keep reading about miraculous fixes with the Steam version on YouTube and the Ubi forums. Couldn't test them myself though on straight UPlay. Wouldn't explain why only Enduro users see the glitches either. Holding out for an AMD fix. I submitted driver feedback to contribute to the cause.

The Ubi forums do not seem terribly helpful BTW. A bunch of people basically received the old "It's a mobile card, which isn't supported" excuse. Of course, everybody knows that there haven't been any advances in mobile GPUs in a decade. We are all rockin' GeForce 2 Gos over here.

I really hope so. I love the game and I've put a ton of hours in so far, but it would be awesome to be able to play without those weird box things lol. As for my nerd rage earlier, that guy and I have gone at it a bunch of times on these forums. I have nothing against the 6990m, or any other mobile gpu for that matter. At this point, Enduro isn't nearly the bother it used to be, but I would still like the option of turning it off like the AW guys can. The 6990m doesn't have that issue, so it's a plus. Still no question in my mind which one is superior though :)

Nice collection of laptops btw. You've had some of the best setups available for quite a few years now :D I may go Alienware next. I find myself liking them more and more. I would probably have one now if there were an m15x and they didn't charge extra for 1080p. I was already over my budget with the Sager, so I would have had to go with a 660m if I got the M17x :/

lol We'll never get any respect from the desktop guys, even if our little laptops outperform a bunch of their rigs :D

Good thing you got your awesome 8150 when you did, otherwise you'd be stuck with one of our broken ripoff 9150s that are only good for benchmarks. I'm jealous.

lol...your funny just trolling like a genius.

edit. the 6990m can game at 1080p in 3d still, im playing farcry 3 in 3 with everything nearly at max.

do you mind taking a picture of 1080p max vs 1080p(low shadows low postfx) and compare as my computer shows no differance maybe your lappy will show a differance that is major and worth justifying 1600 dollars for a upgrade to a 9150.

    no seriously post pictures.

which one is ultra which one is all low

remember im using all max low shadows and post fx for gaming in 3d..but this is a picture that would show the major improvements of going from low to ultra...

    ps

its a port get over it..

    fc3low2resized.jpg

You're really going to look at those and tell me there's no difference between high and low? Water reflections, less vegetation, worse draw distance, worse textures, etc. I can take more if you're really too blind to see it for yourself bro.

failwheel drive thanks for posting that. I do see a differance. I think low looks great. there is a differance but its only slight. remember crysis ones low vs its very high...now thats a difference...same performance gains and loses as crys one but graphically speaking they both look great.

ps can you post a picture of max wiith shadows on low or medium and post fx on low and show the difference as my computer is acting up!!

if you look at your pictures. would you honestly pay 1600 for that small difference?

ps I run it maxed in dx9

maybe post the difference between dx9 and dx11

What the hell is wrong with you two guys? Go have a fight somewhere else about who has the worst laptop. My current laptop has intel GMA iGPU, 2 gb of ddr2 ram, and one of the slowest dual core cpus out there. Now who has a ty laptop? I can run minesweeper and that's about it.

Stop arguing and use this thread for what it's made for please.

I guess I did pay 1600 for it lol. Gaming laptops aren't exactly economical; we all pay a premium to run games on higher settings, even it's not a huge difference from consoles. It's kind of ridiculous when you think about it, but meh. I like my computer lol. I'll upload better resolution pics to photobucket later and pm you with them. I think we have gone off-topic enough in this thread haha

On Overclock.net, an AMD rep actually responds there. I don't know why AMD doesn't have a rep here or Guru3D and other forums. But on Overclock, the rep said in January there will be a hotfix for FC3 again, can expect up to 50% performance. Ubisoft claims they are working with AMD on it also. But I doubt that, my guess it's 99% AMD and 1% Ubisoft since Ubisoft is lame.
