hi, im trying to play an old game, command and conquer red alert 2 on my XPS 1530, bt it lags like crazy when i'm playing it. i play Call of Duty 4 on my machine with no lag, so what's the deal. do you guys know if there's anything i can do to make the game run normally?

i went under the red alert 2 icon, and clicked properties. under the compatibility tab, it lists different OS's to run in compatibility mode for, but vista isn't listed. what can i do?

You can't run in a compatibility mode for an OS your using. It has to be an older one.

could drivers be a problem? what about patches? windows 98 compatibility didn't solve it. my old desktop ran it better than this and it had a 5 year old GPU and 256 mb of ram.

    it's also in the lowest resolution - 640 x 480
