    fifa 08 crashing please help

    hi guys. fifa 08 keeps crashing during gameplay. Whenever the ball is about to hit the post the game quits to windows. I've searched online and found another person that had the same problem.
    I was playing the game with stock drivers in my gateway fx6860 and game was crashing. I looked for a patch and dowloaded that patches and upgraded nvidia drivers and still same problem. anyone have any ideas.
    my specs are more than enough for this game
    intel c2d t5550 1.83 ghz
    4gb ram
    nvidia 8800 gts 512 mb
    320 gb hd.

    this was the other thread the other guy had put up. but couldn't find a solution in that thread. any advice would be very kindly appreciated. Not sure which forum I was supposed to post in, figured this is the games forum and the fifa is a game.
