do you think it is possible? i mean when ff7 came out, it was later released for pc. FF13 is already a cross platform game, thought initially it was supposed to be exclusive to ps3. games like DMC4 was supposed to be exclusive too but it went to 360 then pc :D. i hope ff13 comes out for pc, i dont care when, as long as it arrives :D

FF VII, VIII and XI are the only ones that are available for the PC (XI was actually meant to be PC only though). So I don't think XIII will be ported to the PC since IX, X and X-2 were never ported...

Well this is the first FF game coming to the 360, so there may be a chance of it coming to PC?

If it does, that would be AWESOME.

Square Enix has made a bid for Eidos. Eidos found its roots on PC. So who knows? Perhaps Square wants to use the Eidos studio to develop FF13 for PC? Wouldn't that be neat?

not counting FFXI (its a clear departure from the rest of the series), FF9 and up have not been on the PC, or any non-sony system.

FFXIII is multiplatform. highly likely that it will come out of the pc when the time is right and the money is waiting to be made.

Since eidos have apparantly stopped making new tomb raider games now then square can have them.

I'd pre-order FF13 a year in advance if it came out for pc.

It won't most certainly come to PC.

Final Fantasy XIII will be PS3 exclusive in Japan, PS3/X360 in EU/NA (though X360 version will be scaled down alot).
Final Fantasy Versus XIII will be PS3 exclusive worldwide.
Final Fantasy Agito XIII will be PSP exclusive.

That's all Fabula Nova Crystallis serie Final Fantasy games SE will make, end of story.

If you want to play a good jRPG on PC, then The Last Remnant, which came to X360 in October will be coming to PC/PS3 this spring. It was rather unplayable on X360 because of the lag so hopefully it'll be fixed in the new versions.

i would love if it came out on PC but i just dont see it happening :(
and even if it did i would say it would be 1 - 2 years after the release of it on consoles

Square used to release videos demoing the FFXIII dev tools called the White Engine, and it was always showed running on a PC. Most of the games development has been done on the PC, then they use the Crystal Tools middleware for the cross-platform development.

All I'm saying is, if there was going to be a PC port, the assets are already there.

    You guys should read this.

yeah it seems a bit silly for them not to release the game on PC if they have used the PC to create parts of them game

Well, if FF XIII were to fill up more than 50% of a Blu-Ray disc, there'll be either 2 discs for the 360, high compression for one disc, or slightly scaled down graphics in gameplay and not during CG cutscenes.

i would say they would put it on 2 or more discs - they have done it with a couple of other 360 games

Or, just not make it for the 360 is what they should have done. :D

Lost Odyssey was on what, 4 discs? Expect at least as many for the 360 version of XIII.

About The Last Remnant, Square released a benchmark for us PC gamers to test the system performance we should be expecting when it's released.

    You can download it here.

i don't see how this information guarantees that there will be no pc release later. big crossplatform games tend to get ported to the pc about 6 months to a year after their initial release on the consoles (even if console exclusive). its a money thing.

i also haven't heard anything about the x360 version being scaled down at all. i have heard the potential for multiple discs. (i don't own or plan to own any consoles, im not just being a fanboy, just saying...)

If they're going to make a 360 version, they might as well release a PC version being Direct X and all.

All we have is Spring 2009. Here's what's being added to the PC version:

Plus a stable 30+ framerate, looks like a winner!

SquareEnix rarely ever brings anything to PC at all, and if they ever did - then they announced it beforehand with all the other releases.

As for X360 port, it's basically the same story as is with another PS3/X360 game called Rage where X360 will be downscaled alot because the lack of space. There are many theories how SE will manage, but some obivious ones are lower-quality cutscenes, perhaps partial voice-acting like they did in Infinite Undiscovery, level of detail will be lower because the game is developed first on PS3 while using PS3 special attributes (more cores, enabling smarter AI's, better physics, more detail etc) and then being ported to X360.
Hopefully we wont see things as constant fps drops, disabled features, removed cutscenes or such in the port.

i dont see them down scaling because of space, they could just make it onto multiple discs, like several 360 games have been already. it might be down scaled because of the hardware - but i wouldnt think that space would be that big a problem

having looking at some of the videos for The Last Remnant i have to say it doesnt look that good to me - whats with the fact that you see the monster on the screen but have to go to another screen for the battles, they should have made it like FF12 where fight them on the field and not going into a battle screen

Agreeing with Akuma on this one. Not very likely at all. If I remember correctly, they stopped releasing the actually RPG games (not the silly online RPG) after FFVIII because they weren't that popular compared to the console versions and got a bit more of a critical lashing from the PC magazines.

PC gamers are far more fussy. Besides, why get the game again when you bought it for the consoles six months beforehand. The PC version had a later release date didn't it? Or at least FFVII was.

There was actually a post in 2008 that announced that FF13 was indeed coming to PC (SOURCE: http://finalfantasy-xiii.net/2008/07/25/no-final-fantasy-xiii-for-pc.html). I was really happy when I saw this.

But then a couple days later, the publisher make a statement that said they interpreted their message wrong and they don't have any plans to bring it to PC( source: http://finalfantasy-xiii.net/2008/07/25/no-final-fantasy-xiii-for-pc.html)/0. I died a little inside when I saw this news.

So.. no plans for FF13 for PC for now.
