    hi
how much better is fx3800m from fx1800m. Is the difference huge. Is it worth sacrificing the portability for better graphics performance. I will be using the card for CAD programs and little bit of gaming and want something which will easily do all that. Also how does firepro m7820 compare to these 2

There is a massive difference. In terms of pure performance, the FX 3800M is over 100% better. The M7820 is close to the FX 3800M in performance and typically a lot cheaper and unless you have a specific need for nVidia cards, is a better deal for the price.

The 3800m is a lot better, but the 1800m will run a lot cooler.

I dont mind about nvidia or Ati, just need the best performance. At the moment I configured the Lenovo W701 with fx3800m and core i7 820qm, and dell m6500 with Ati m7820 and core i7 940XM for about the same price. Which one is better.

    HP 8740w with a 30-bit IPS screen, ATI M7820 and i7-840QM ;) With a 28% OFF, it's way cheaper than both W701 and M6500

I couldn't buy it in Canada...*whispering*- Ordered from the HP US and forwarded it to Canada. Saved ~1000$.

Oh, my... Just got an email from Lenovo... There's a sale in Canada (today and tomorrow only) - 40% OFF on all ThinkPads. That's just crazy! Too bad, I don't need another ThinkPad... :(

Nope, they don't have. But you can always try ordering from your country (using Skype or any other call forwarding software), Wire Transfer as a method of payment and a third party mail forwarding service (they will have a shipping address in Canada reserved for you, receive and forward the package to your country)

    >>> Still, I think HP will be the best deal since in addition to the best screen option you also get a travel 3 year NBD warranty for just 40$ extra ;)
