    Not low on memory.

There is something running in the background that is stealing the window focus. Check for Spyware. Check for pop-ups such as McAfee Anti-Virus saying there is an update available.
Close down everything in the Tray that you are not using. Check to be sure that there isn't anything hidden in the Tray that you aren't using. (Right click on the toolbar -> Properties -> Uncheck hide inactive icons). Check for Windows Updates, could be Windows Update running in the background which is giving a popup saying that there are updates available for download.

I presume that after it minimizes, you can just press Alt+Tab and get right back into the game? If thats the case, then something installed and running in the background is the culprit.

i think it has something to do with aols security center...because i never had the problem before i installed it...its really getting annoying...it does it on all the games i was playing...C&C generals, bfme, and bfme2 demo...

i would uninstall the aol security center, it is prolly wasting system resources, and if you are a safe and experienced web browser, you don't need that aol crap.

i'm not exactly sure what aol security center is doing, but i think it might be blocking you to play those games or something like that. you know how windows has its own security center like how it asks you to block or unblock internet gaming to prevent viruses and such, i think it might be doing something like that to prevent computer crashing. just delete the aol security center. its prob useless anyway.
