well when im at school i have days where i have 2 to 3 hours for free time.
and sometimes I dont feel like studying (go wonder).
I was wondering what games could i play that would run on my system and would be pretty fun. any genre except for sports games.
also it needs to be able to run with battery power
-
Maybe some sort of puzzle game
Like BeJeweled 2, or Zuma, they aren't very demanding so they should run on battery
I quite like em
Hope this helps -
Mr._Kubelwagen More machine now than man
Peggle. Defcon.
-
Quake II =)
-
I'm guessing you're stuck with games that's not graphic demanding at all, anything above that would probably drain your battery life at a very rapid rate.
-
8400m GS is pretty capable.
Most games 2005 and older should run superbly with 1280x800 at max settings. Source engine games should run great too (Half-Life 2), FEAR, Company of Heroes, Age of Empires 2/3, depends on what games you like. -
Age of empire 2. Or any game that can run well when the gpu and cpu are underclocked.
-
RA2 would run no prob even on battery saver, and you could adapt to it with the touchpad.
-
starcraft
-
Dwarf Fortress
-
I would recommend the OP brings a mouse too.
The touchpad isn't too bad for strategy games though.
-
Tetris! filler
-
Command & Conquer Tiberian Sun, Red Alert 2, Firestorm along with the Total War Mod.
-
+1 for this. its almost the only game i play on my netbook. another good one is jedi outcast
-
Oh heck yeah! AoE 2 is a great time killer.
-
Good call on Jedi Outcast! I miss playing that game. The only downside is that you'll need an external mouse to play it.
-
actually for most strategy games the touch pad sucks....i used to play games on the train in the morning but eventually started using a mouse on the keyboard which i half covered up with a mouse pad.
i play patrician 3, warcraft 2/3, sim city 4......and a couple of new games however i have electricity when i am at uni. -
DOOM. I used to remember when my Dad played it, now 10+ years later I'm addicted as well
-
I use the pint stick on my 8510p to play AoE2 sometimes.
-
But won't those games drain his battery power down in 30 minutes or an hour time? It would be troublesome if he got class later on, might as well just find some places with power outlet to sit down and play.
-
Actually not as much as you'd think. My N50 gets 3.5 hours of battery life while on power saver mode, with just a word document or something open. While playing a low intensity game while on battery power (Unreal Tournament, the first one) I got 2.5 hours of battery
Now if you disable Nvidia's powermizer, then yes, your battery would run out in 1 hour. -
I see, thanks for clarifying.
-
Good point. Depending on the game, it will drain the battery much more quickly. Older games like AoE 2, Starcraft, Warcraft 3, etc., are not very graphically demanding, and shouldn't drain the battery too quickly.
-
Theres always Solitaire and Minesweeper
-
thanks for all the replies. Im going to look at warcraft 3 frozen throne (have the game just havent played it in a while), starcraft (thumbs up!! imo best strategy game ever), AoE 2 (have been looking at it for quite some time now just havent gotten around it), and also peggle (great steam game.)
I just hope that these games would last for about 2 to 2 and a half hours since in class we usually have outlets so that shouldnt be a problem. -
I've just finished it in COOP mode with some friends, still very good game
-
any other games i should look for?
-
World Of Goo is a great game
it's also not very demanding so you should be able to run it on battery
Hope this helps
-
:O i just fell in love with this game great physics
thanks a bunch -
Great
Glad i could help
Most of my friends laughed when I first told them about it, but now they are all addicted to it, LIKE ME
