    would a ati mobility radeon 9700 with 128mb dedicated vram be able to play just about any game like doom3 etc the most demanding games on video

    It will play them, but you will have to turn your settings down. The 9700 is a little oldish at this point.

    haha, i just love hearing that... I remember when 9700s were the ****.. now they're "oldish" ... gaming is ridiculous.. how long till my 6800 is obsolete? im gussing any game after quake 4.. so like.. 6months..lol

    lol...but i don't think they are going to get that obsolete that soon...maybe in a few years...considering that the 9700 can still play a lotta games...even on low settings now..even after this many years

    I was able to play Doom 3 on an ATI 9600 128 mb on medium settings and 1024 x 768 resolution without any problems

    I was able to play Doom3 on my desktop which i tricked out (at the time) with a 128MB Nvidia GeForce FX 5200 Ultra! It played at low settings with 1024X768!
