i have a 43x800d 4k wide color gamut tv. xbox one s and 4 good games and a ux330 cak laptop in the pawn shop ready to pickup will cost 1300 all items are brand new.
i see a gs63vr-001 gaming laptop on newegg.ca for 1400.
i have 180-200 pc games that i have yet to play and beat
which is the better buy, cause quite frankly in torn.

I'd personally go for the gs63, but depends on if you'd rather sit on the couch and game on a TV.. or sit on the couch and game on a laptop..
Realistically..you could hook the GS63 up to HDMI and use a wireless XBox controller and play on the TV as well. What are the 4 good games? If all the games you care about are multiplatform then you could probably play those 4 games on a TV anyway. 1060 in the GS63 would work just as well as an XBox One S at 1080p.
This is a super personal preference thing, not sure what anyone else thinks matters here.Prototime, don_svetlio and JRE84 like this. -
oh wow thanks for the input...im leaning towards the gs63vr, im not a big console gamer but i was thinking for youtube and movies the tv would be nice.....and keep in mind i currently have nothing but a 10 yearold desktop

Definitely the laptop - it's a very nice device if you don't need a lot of battery life.

I mostly play all my games on my laptop while sitting on my recliner. Comfy lapdesk and a decent mouse that can work on any surface is all you need. I use an XBox controller for most games that play well with one. I am assuming you already have a decent at least HD TV? Get a chromecast for next to nothing ($35) and you can cast YouTube to your TV and use it for Netflix as well. I have the 49" version of the 800D. I'm not super happy with the panel quality itself (I think the 43" has a much better AHVA panel). The 900E however is awesome, going to switch out to that if we get tired of the 800D, it's not great, the 49" anyway. But.. Android TV on it is fantastic.. chromecast can pretty much do the same thing.
If it was a PS4 Pro instead, I'd personally have more of a conundrum with the question, there's more exclusives I've been wanting to play on it (Horizon, God of War, Uncharted, Bloodborne. Last of Us, Last Guardian, etc...) But all things considered I'd rather have a gaming PC than either a PS4 Pro or Xbox One X. We have an OG XBox One just for my wife to play Bethesda games. I would have done a PS4 instead but she likes XBox controllers and she has a Live account.. so.. I rarely touch it. I've tried the XBox app on Win 10 to stream games to my PC, it works pretty well but there's no games I really care about enough to buy them and take that route. I honestly can't think of a single XBox exclusive that I care about.. weird.. and I can rattle 6 of them off the top of my head for PS4.

How many hours of battery life do you need? The GS63 can last 3-4 hours of web browsing but if you need more then you should look at something like the Gigabyte Aero 14/15 - those last for about 7-8 hours on average while doing light work.
Also, do you need a 1060/1070 for your gaming needs? If not, you can get a cheaper device and have money left over. Say the Acer Nitro 5 Spin for example?JRE84 likes this. -
yeah I saw the acer nitro spin for 950 on b and h....interesting....well tbh I was thinking low settings 4k gaming with a controller evenually if i went for the 1060. its not ideal but should work fine as many older great games i still need or want to play.
battery life is pretty important hence the ux330 as a option...i suppose 7-8 hours is important....I was also thinking about just saving up and getting the tv and ux330 and a gs65-thin -

If the 4K games are older, I'd say a 1050 Ti should handle them fine. That opens up more options
