as most of you know the new P-7811FX is coming out which has a 1920 x 1200 resolution screen. this almost scares me because playing games at that rez is like feeding your video card to head crabs. i know you can turn the rez down on the screen but that would mean you're not running in native resolution and it will be all blurry like because it's an lcd screen. that's my experiance anyway. i have a 1680x1050 22 in on my desktop and any game running at a lower rez looks like crap because it's not native resolution.
i guess im just asking if i turn the resolution down on the P-7811FX to say 1440 x 900 will it look all blurry and crappy? or will it look just like it does on the older P-6860FX screen?

The video card does the scaling not the screen so you will be fine, use a resolution that has the same aspect ratio and enjoy.

so why does my deskop look horrible when it isnt in native rez? does my 8800gt not scale well?
EDIT: and yes i do use the same aspect ratio -
it means you have different preferences when it comes to lowering resolution.

i do have some higher standards yes i can agree with this, but my friends 19 inch monitor looks fine at it's native rez and it's less than 1680 x 1050. either way you guys are saying that the P-7811FX's screen will look the same as the P-6860FX's screen when at 1440 x 900 right? if so thank you.

It won't be exactly the same but the difference will be a harder to notice than with your 22" monitor. This is because of the smaller pixels in a 17" screen than the 22".
Whether you'll notice it a lot or not I can't say. -

The bigger the monitor and higher the dot pitch the more noticeable it will be. A little 15" notebook screen 1280x800 looks great to me. my 37" at home I prefer to have something higher. -
I have played games at native res (1920x1200) and below native res on my lappy and have noticed very little difference. This is due to the fact that when playing at a lower res, you can ussually turn up AA and other eye candy to compensate for the lower res. Sometimes it looks better because of this. Of my lappy can handle Crysis at native res and some high settings...so I can't complain about much. You will just have to experiment with settings in game to see what makes you happy.
