Ok so for the last week I have been running all over the internet trying to find ways to tweak my vista for gaming. The most heated discussion I have found has been between super fetch and ready boost.
I want to know if it is worth turning them of or not, if so, is it just a process that I turn off?
Also if any of you got any tips for tweaking with vista.
Thanks again

Search for top vista tweaks on the forum they are like 20ways that can help you tweak vista. As for ready boost you need a usb drive. For super fetch also speeds up your computer. Why would you need to turn it off? By the way super fetch does not speed up gaming experience.

Ya, but can't it hinder it when it vista starts indexing your hdd? My computer sometimes goes into this hdd intensive mode where for like 10 minutes I can hear the hdd buzzing and clicking, and when I go under performance monitor, it's vista's indexing, as far as I understand it, what makes superfetch, and/or search possible. So far it has only happened when my computer's idle, or when I'm browsing the net, but I think if I were playing a game, and it started constantly reading and writing the hdd, it would slow things down, although I may be wrong...

Leave Superfetch on since it also remembers what games you run often so load times should theoretically be faster from the OS if you let it do its job.
Readyboost can be safely disabled in msconfig if you have more than 2GB of RAM in Vista.
gaming super fetch ready boost help!!
