i have an aspire 7520-5311 , it has an 8400m G... ive read its terrible for gaming, cannot run crysis, oblivion ... and then other people say they can at lowest settings?

also can i upgrade the video card? i went on newegg and i cannot find any mobile video cards?

    i have amd turion 64x2 2ghz
    2 gig ram
    and obviously the 8400m g

also i have the default drivers which ive read are super old... can someone link me to vista specific drivers for this video card? i went to the nvidia website and they wont give me drivers saying i need acer specific drivers, but the people say i just need to find the right ones to download...?

    1. Read stickies.

    2. It should run crysis and oblivion at low with the right drivers, use laptopvideo2go.com

    3. 99.9% chance you can't upgrade.

No you cannot upgrade, unless you replace the whole motherboard that already has the 8600GT in it. Once again, go back and read the sticky...it lists all the laptops that are upgradeable, and your's isn't on there.

yes it is possible to upgrade 8400m g to 8600 gs at least. About 8600 gt dunno but i´m going to try it out by myself in future. See www.MXM-upgrade.com

To the best of my knowledge the laptop in question does not have an MxM video card, so the MxM upgrade information doesn't pertain to the OP.

I don't understand why people are obsessed with their opinion. Even though stickies are a very good source of info and guidance, they are not the Bible. Yes, you can upgrade your graphic card, you might even be able to put the 9500M GS. I have a friend that his friend did it on his laptop with the 8600M GT 512MB DDR2. Just make sure the card has an Acer BIOS or if it doesn't, make sure you find one first and learn how to flash the card.
