    I have an inspiron 8500 with a geforce 4200go (64MB)
Half Life and Vampire bloodlines are unplayable (1 frame every 3 seconds) and Need for Speed Underground 2 runs smoothly until i win a race, then everything becomes as choppy like HL2 or vampire (during the award ceremony after each race...)
Doom 3 is also hard to play, but better framerate (5 to 10 fps... still not enough...)
The settings are always 800X600 and detail = LOWEST...
Drivers up to date, 512MB ram...
I think there must be another problem than my hardware...
Anyone an idea? I'm getting desperate...
I think I'll buy and install a radeon 9600 pro (and modify it first...)

    Thanks!!
