i have a ibm 600 made in 2001 and i like playing starcraft on it...but the sreen is 640x?? small. its not fullscrn and its because the old video-chip (neomagic magicgraph 128zv driver). the 640x??? is the defult settting for this old thing. Is it possible to put a new videocard driver? maybe the(neomagic MagicGraph 128xd) this should make it full screen.
how can i do it? do i need to solder the new chip? or do i just change it like the cpu? help me...i want to play games full screen.
heres a example....it shows chips and ibm 600 w/ magic graph 128xd playing some game FULLSCREEN

It's time to get a new laptop.

Not possible to upgrade your graphics card. Read the stickies.

oh...so new graphic card=need to motherboard or new laptop? dang...tat sucks
-
That said, a new laptop (even the bottom end $4-500 ones) will be a huge upgrade from what you're using. -
what if i use one of these graphic cards...

but i think this is too crazy...like 1200x??? something.. -
Dude, StarCRAFT runs ONLY at 640x480. It`s how it was made.

Also kdaniel6217, Why are you contemplating a $250 band-aid solution? You can get a new laptop with like 10X the CPU/RAM/GPU/etc of a Thinkpad 600 for $400-500!! Isn't a Thinkpad 600 using ~ 366Mhz Pentium 2, 6-10GB hd, etc? If so, don't waste $$$ on a dinosaur!!! -
but you can play on full screen which is just stretching..less quality but full. -
But I'll put it this way to you: If you want a better graphics card you must buy an entirely new laptop. There is no way to solder on, swap in, swap in with motherboard, or any other way to upgrade.
getting new videocard drive for fullscrn game?
