    gfx card problem

    Hi i have a fujitsui amilo laptop,a few weeks ago it would not boot to windows.I thought i may have a virus,so wiped the hardrive and re-installed xp.When i installed the driver for nvidia gfx card laptop would not boot to windows until driver was removed,laptop is working but without the gfx card working it scrolls down really slow.Is the card faulty? and if so can i change the chip?

    Also whats the model of your laptop?

    Have you tried Fujitsu drivers for your video card or even 3rd party drivers from laptopvideo2go.com? There is a guide in the sticky on how to update your video card drivers.

    People in the Alienware forum have had problems like this with the m5550 - the GPU was bad in their case. As soon as they installed a video driver, the laptop would not work.
