dont know if this is the right place to post bt its about gfx cards so here goes...

I just read the official system requirements for vista and it recommends a 128MB gfx card. The laptop im going to get has a go7300 which is a 64MB card but its listed by nvidia as Vista compatible?

Does that mean i wont be able to have the aero interface?

I think that indeed means you cant get thee aero interface... you really need 128 MB to calculate all that... You say you are gonna get a 7300Go with 64 MB, but your signature sais 256 MB. I think shared video memory will do fine too.

EDIT: Thanks jetstar I am running it now! Great link!

yea, sorry i forgot to mention that. Its 64 dedicated and 256 turbocache. I thought the spec for vista was talking about dedicated VRAM.

jetstar, i cant actaully go to that website because i havent got the laptop yet. Im still mulling over the advanatges and disadvantages and vista compatibility is a big factor, which is why i asked this question. But thanks for the link :)

@_radditz - Sorry, I forgot to catch that!

@Hitman and NetBrakr - you are welcome. I just found out about this the other day. Its a really nice application, which scans all components of your computer and gives a detailed report as to whether the computer and each component can handle Vista and its features. It also recommends a version of Vista that is most suitable for the computer.
