    Hey guys, whats up

I ordered a dv2000t a few days ago with the go 7200 video card, 2gb of ram and C2D 2.0ghz. For those of you who have a similar machine, I am wondering how well it will be able to run vista w. aero. Does it freeze up and stall or does it run quick and flawless.
My main concern is the graphics card because i know the aero is very demanding.

    Thank You

It will run Aero pretty well but for the Vista experience rating expect about a 2.6 until Nvidia whips their drivers into decently working order.

My Go 7400 gets a 3.2 rating the SAME as the Intel GMA I945GM graphics, to show you how good Nvidia's Vista drivers are.

It will run Aero 100% fine, don't worry about it. :)

Ok thanks, I was beginning to worry that my future laptop is already obsolete.

Any of the Geforce 7 series cards (even the Geforce 7100, which is a refreshed card from the Geforce 6 series) will run Vista fine.

The next, much better chipset is coming out in 2 months. Buying a chipset that came out a long time ago pretty much guaranteed you're not getting anything near what you would've gotten had you waited a couple months.

Vista's Aero interface is not as demanding as people think - even the integrated Intel GMA950 can run it fine. A low-end dedicated video card is best though; it won't take up nearly as much system memory (if any) as the integrated card will, and usually dedicated cards have some sort of video acceleration features in them, so videos may play smoother.
