Hey there, not sure wether im posting this in the right section. Could anyone tell me wether the following specifications for a laptop im interested in are good enough to play modern games. Im particularly bothered about it being able to play the sims 2 seamlesly and also how about more graphic intense games for example tomb raider legend?
Any replies would be great thanks.![]()
Here they are
Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 with Update Rollup 2
AMD Turion¿ 64 X2 Mobile Technology TL-50
1024 MB DDR2 667 MHz (2 x 512 MB)
120 GB SATA Hard Disk Drive 5400 rpm
14.1" WXGA High Definition BrightView Widescreen Display
NVIDIA® GeForce¿ Go 6150 Up to 128 MB shared video memory

Well I know you can play Half Life 2 pretty good and any game older than that should be no problem.

The 6150 is an integrated card. It should play the Sims 2 very well, but I'd be wary about any other high-intensity games. Check the stickies.

Hey there thanks for your replies, they are much apreaciated.
Im actually more bothered about the games running smoothly than the graphics being ultra smooth etc. although it would be nice. After being stuck with a 256mb of ram computer that turns itself of everytime you insert a usb device, it will be nice to play games at all!! -
You will be somewhat limited in what you can play, but that's not to say you won't be able to play a bunch of not-so-demanding games.
Do you have an idea of what types of games you may be interested in playing in the future? That might help to determine whether or not you'll need a dedicated graphics card.
BTW, I agree with Pitabred that you should read through the stickies as he linked above. -
sorry about that, I really should know better owning an MB of my own.
Im not into the usual pc game expert stuff if you know what i mean (war games etc) so I shouldnt really need a dedicated graphic card. Im more interested in simulation games and games like tomb raider that would only really use PS2 quality graphics.
good enough to play modern games?
