Unless you have reason to believe your fans aren't running at full speed when you are gaming and it is getting hot, there shouldn't be much of a point to trying to control the fans manually unless you really wanted to lower temps when *not* under load.

    This is specifically for Dell's.

    Give it a try.

I personally need one myself, i have an Acer, anyone know of one that works? my fans don't kick in it 100% when i'm gaming and really want them too...

    Thanks.

I used i8kfan with my Dell Vostro 1500. It's very helpful, not only can you control all the fans in your laptop, but you can also set temperatures that you want the fan to on (and to what speed). It also monitors temperature of all vital parts of the laptop - CPU, GPU, RAM, HDD, etc.

I think only Dell allow people to change fan settings, on most laptops its the bios alone that are allowed to control it or something..
