for those of you looking for an entertaining and well-done game that your laptop can handle, i recommend picking up the original half life.

with AA, transparency AA, and AF on max settings at native resolution, this game looks pretty good considering it was released over 10 years ago. the game itself is great, and the presentation outdoes most recent games. and best of all, it will run all these settings at great framerates.

i just picked it up again, and i'm glad i did.

If you're looking for a great shooter, check out team fortress 2 as well, it can also be downloaded off of steam.

I am waiting for the release of Black Mesa which is half-life completely redone but using the (much better) half-life 2 source engine as well as high resolution and other additions. This will be great, check out youtube for footage.

Max Payne 2 is still a looker and well worth trying on low end laptops (and high end ones for that matter).

I echo all other sentiments in this thread too.

    Same

This is the reason I am holding back from playing Half-Life right now
    (never played it before)
