Is CS considered "older" game to you? If yes, then that's still a great game and it works on Vista.
-
does starcraft work with vista? lol idk but i used to play that game alot

Just make sure you download the mod "Zdoom" to play it! -

I'm not sure how old you are talking, and what type of laptop you have... but my old Toshiba with an Intel GMA950 ran the older games like CS and Deus Ex beautifully. Anything better than that will have no problem with any of those games -

Well in order to play you have to have steam installed with a steam account.

The list above with Kingpin and MaxPayne, those two are GREAT! Was actually gonna put Kingpin on the list myself, great call!
Also, System Shock2 as mentioned, And I thoroughly enjoyed the No One Lives Forever Series (1,2, Contract Jack).
Manhunt is also now working on Vista, check that one out.
FarCry should run well and is a blast
Freespace is available free now and is a GREAT space sim.
Darwinia is a fun game that's newer but doesn't have very high requirements
And for incredibly fun racing, check out Flatout, the first should run great, and probably the 2nd as well.
Good luck and enjoy! These are just some highlights I still play. -
and as a side note, I would recommend ya check out Steam, as there's a WHOLE lot of goodness there, and a lot of it doesn't require much speed wise from a computer. Plus, way easier to get em there than hunt them down on ebay! Have fun!
-
It's not THAT old, but Escape from Butcher Bay is a sexy game that did not get the attention it deserved.
-
Oh man, where is the time that I played CS 1.5...
-
Yes! Those days were awesome hahahaha! I used to play LAN games of CS 1.5 at internet cafes...LOL
-
-
I've got a CD rack with about 90% of the games mentioned here and some. Now I've got the inkling to install one of them to play. But first up is going to be Westwood's classic Bladerunner.
-
Haha I played it with my 1st notebook which had 256mb ram, XP, P4 Celeron, SiS integrated GPU. At the internet cafes they had P4 computers and 1GB ram
and Geforce MX4...so amazing!
