Need for Speed Most Wanted for sure, it's a lot of fun.
If you don't mind an offline RPG consider Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic -
I played Jade Empire on Xbox and enjoyed it, is there anything the computer version has that the console doesn't have?

as well as (for PC):
- Elder Scrolls series
- The Witcher
- System Shock
- Fallout
- Spellforce
- Baldur's Gate
....etc....
These are some of the best single player PC RPG's.
The free Online ones:
- Silkroad Online
- Anarchy Online
- RuneScape
- PlaneShift
- Rappelz
- Second Life
....etc.... -
Haven't gamed much in a while, but good games... Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic (I and II, offline, but very fun). Ultima Online can be played for free (game download is legally free from EA, just modify a couple of files to play on one of the thousands of free servers out there). Used to play it back in 1999 or so, good stuff.
There are also plenty of great games if you get your hands on an emulator, so you could play games like the Zelda series, Chrono Trigger, Shenmue I & II (on another note, Shemue Online might ecome out within the next 500 years, but they're aimed at the Chinese market).
I'm a really retro gamer, though. I'll suggest anything based on the SCUMM engine, ESPECIALLY the Monkey Island series and The Dig (released in 1995, this is the only game I have ever played where I have been completely immersed into it and felt like I was watching a great movie, like an interactive 2001). Then there's Diablo, the Metal Gear Solid series (admittedly not very retro), and Grim Fandango.
A lot of what I've mentioned above are not RPGs. Strictly speaking RPGs: KOTOR I & II, Fable, Baldur's Gate I & II, Morrowind, Oblivion, Guild Wars, Diablo, Neverwinter Nights, and the Fallout series. When you're done with these, let me know, I'll add more to your list.
Edit: For racing, try GTR 2. Not a big fan of the Need for Speed series anymore; they used to be about simulation (the first game was even endorsed by Road & Track), now it's all about bling. -
Also I believe DIRT is coming to PC this fall.

Um...might be a little old, but Diablo II Lord of Destruction(uh, I might not remember the name right) is definitely worth playing over and over again, especially if you haven't done so. And also Dungeon Siege series is alright, it's kind of like Titan Quest, not as graphically inclined though.
For shooters...it depends on how fast do you want it to be. For me if you want fast paced action, get the unreal tournaments. Far Cry's also pretty nice, FEAR and Halo series if you haven't played it on the XBOX yet. -
. Good to see a good game getting some well deserved attention.
If you're looking for less grinding, and high speed adrenaline pumping action, look no further. 2Moons has it all.
It is 17+ (M Rated) game, though. The NPC's will frequently swear and there's guts and gore everywhere (well, just splashes of blood). Lots of PvP and Party/Guild battles in that game, so if you can get involved, it can get really intense and fun. -
thanks alot for all the responses guys, very helpfull

Titaaaaaaaannnnnnnnnnnnnnnn Quesssssssssssssssssssttttttttt
Brilliant LAN game -
What's better: NFS Most Wanted or Carbon?
-
Guild Wars is a really good game. Right off the start, you notice there's no monthly fee, which is a plus over games like WoW or the like. It's very easy to get into the game, but the game also has a great storyline and depth to it, so it doesn't get boring.
My ranking of the three campaigns in order of preference:
Prophecies: Long and great storyline, very player-friendly, enjoyable. This campaign seems to be the best value for your money in my opinion.
Nightfall: Pretty long, a bit harder, but fun nonetheless. The addition of heroes really add to the joy of this campaign, and Paragon's a fun class to play
Factions: Shorter, harder, and somewhat more rushed. However, the Kurzick-Luxon thing is pretty interesting, the armors look nice, and Alliance Battles are FUN!
No matter which campaign you pick, I'm sure you'll enjoy the game. I would recommend Prophecies, but the player population might have dwindled as new campaigns have come up. Nightfall is the newest, and most fun in my opinion. -
Beyond Good & Evil (It is sorta RPG'ish, and it's so awesome everyone should play it anyway)
Fallout 1 and 2 (A bit old, but still must-play)
KOTOR 1 and 2
And if you like generic fantasy, pick up NWN1 and 2 as well. -
carbon's really not that good - in my opinion it's shorter, easier, and the music is hopeless, while mostwanted offers moreyeah, the only thing carbon has to offer besides autosculpting is canyons. aaah and finally drifts are back. but everything's back to the night theme only... most wanted seems to look better
and to answer the basic q:
1)rpg:
->oblivion + exps + free mods (w/o them the game is too hack'n'slash fighter oriented)
->jade empire (i believe special edition on pcs has one more style available - you need to find it however what i hadn't done while playing on 360)
->vtm:bloodlines (yeah, not that young, not that diverse adventure and no bards, some problems, but the setting...
)
->kotor 1 & 2 - both are great, the 2nd has more options, but the storyline of the first simply rocks!
->nwn2 - classic dnd 3.5 orienteddruids, bards, sorcs, monks and all the rest
->fable lc (should you "managed" not to play this before)
->titan quest - great diablo replacement
->dark messiah of might and magic - great "shooter" - gives you more the thief3 feeling than other rpgsand you still can hack with your sword or fry'em all extra crispy
->hitman4bloodmoney - so what it's more of a tactical-sneaker... you do get your tools managed and improved that gives you that extra rpg-like feel... plus tobias has to play his own rpg a lot in every single mission
2)racing:
->nfs mw - vr1 knows it
->nfs c - 1 step ahead, 1 step back an a tiny little move the same direction for the music
->juiced 2 - get yourself a team of you-alikes
->srs - really really worthy a look! somewhere between nfs:hp2, nfs:u, nfs:u2, nfs:mw + a set of new options
->test drive unlimited - 100+cars, lots of easy tuning options...
->gtr2 - more of a sim than an arcade
->xpandrally (1 or 2) - rally game so little room for customization is ofcourse there
cheers, your game-addicted student-reporter-reviewer!
good rpg???
