Hi-
I'm wondering if anyone can recommend a reliable site with good prices in the UK to order thermal paste. Like the new arctic MX-3 or any other good paste.
Thanks in advance![]()

Micro Direct, Scan Computers.

I've just bought some Arctic Ceramique & Articlean on ebay for £9.40 inc delivery.
Though I later noticed I could have gotten the exact the same products for £9.30 inc delivery from Chilledpc.co.uk
I haven't used them before but I have used the above recommendations (Scan, MicroDirect) and I also recommend them. There's also ebuyer.com and dabs.com -
ebay is ur best choice... just look around..
-
yea i dont really want to use ebay,....the reason i posted this thread is because i got ripped off on ebay before. got a counterfeit/imitation pack of AS5.....
-
AS5 2.5G
does this look fake? or real? -
forget E-Bay... Chilled PC is one of the best vendors out there...
some good vendors and customer experience feed back here..
here's a recent review of the latest TIM -

I have so far ordered all of my thermal paste from amazon.co.uk with free delivery.
Edit: So far I have ordered Arctic Silver 5, Arctic MX2, MX3 and Arctic Silver ArctiClean. Every single package arrived really quickly and well protected, most free delivery. One package arrived really late but that was near Christmas time.
You are also very well protected on Amazon with the A-Z guarantee. -

Overclockers do aswell if you are a forum member (though there is a minimum time and post count restriction).

amazon doesn't make you jump hoops. -

thinking of getting this- heard good things about it on the internet. at the moment i'm using gelid extreme, it works well, but for some reason after about 3 months the temps start going up...a LOT. So i'm rather sick of re-applying the paste every so often.
also, do the material removers and surface purifiers make any difference? I normally just use an alcohol swab... -
That's the one I'm using , you don't really need the acticlean stuff (smells good though
).. alcohol will suffice.
Here's a review vs the gelid Gc2

the MX-3 is 4 pounds more expensive than the MX-2.
the benchmarks show improvement, but in the real world, do you reckon its worth the extra 4 quid? -
You will save £1.88 if you get if from http://www.chilledpc.co.uk/shop/product_info.php?cPath=66&products_id=1319
It did brought my temps down by 5 to 6 degrees from the stock crap , so for me it was worth every penny.. I say go for it
Another alternative is ICD7. -
yea chilledpc seems cheaper. will probably go for it there. thanks!
-
It is more likely that stock temps are cooler after you apply the paste yourself because you applied it better than your resellers did. They usually put too much thermal paste on. Due to this, many assume that their temps are lower due to the different type of thermal paste they used when in most cases, it is probably due to the method of application.

the AS cleaner smells... citrus-like... i think... -
yea i normally use the alcohol swabs. they work well. was just wondering if those 2 part sets made any difference. thanks.
-
well, alcohol swabs will leave a residue... swab it on glass and check...
just go pick up a bottle of >90% Isopropyl Alcohol... -
no residue that i can see.. its 80% isopropyl alcohol and 20% pure water, which evaporates pretty fast as well.
using surgical swabs. -
+1 for Chilled PC thats where I got my OCZ Freeze and Arcticlean from
good site in UK to buy thermal paste?
