I'm looking to play some good survival/Horror games...

    1. Call of Cthulu was cool
    2. I know about Penumbra
    3. Re5 isn't survival horror
    4. I don't mind the older games
    5. preferably PC, although I have both a PS3 and a 360 if need be...

I've also played Doom 3, DeadSpace...

You sure about that? She varies between Crone, Young, child.

    Creepy little girl

How about Cryostasis? Pretty cool survival/horror FPS on a derelict ice breaker in the Arctic.

    Cryostasis: Arrival

Pretty amazing game, and if your computer has what it takes, the physics and visuals are amazing.

For survival aspects: S.T.A.L.K.E.R - Shadow of Chernobyl

    For Horror: The Penumbra Series

Both the games have survival + horror in them, but some are better than others at doing so.

Yes, but he only stated that he had 'heard' of them. I had to assume that he hadn't played them.

    if you have a xbox360 or ps3 i would recommend Condemned 2.
if not then Doom, Penumbra Dead Space, Fear and The Stalker are probably all the ones that's more than decent. Fallout 3 has the surviving part, but lacks any scary elements.
although i do remember there is one game released not long ago called ShellShocker or something, supposed to be scary.

You are right about Condemned 2, that had some great horror moments.

I think you mean ShellShock? If so, there was a new one out this year, but it got terrible reviews. Saw it at my local GAME for a few quid though..

Cryostasis is a recent release and it's getting decent reviews, the game mechanic of playing in a sub-zero environment is an interesting twist.

condemned is a great one. I'd reccomend it to anyone. It would make you pee your pants the first time you got hit by someone.

Or doom 3. I love that game. NIGHTMARE DIFFICULTY LITERALLY WILL GIVE YOU NIGHTMARES. AND IMPOSSIBLE TO PLAY. NO CHEATS ALLOWED.

Not that scary nor is it much of a survival game, but bioshock is amazing. It'll get really creepy if you get into it, and there will be many instances where you might be fighting for your life so i guess it sort of meets your criteria?
