what kinds of temps does it peak at? or by overheating do you mean it ACTUALLY overheats and the computer shuts down.

the card should be fine into the low 90s though.

Like in diablo3 , the temps reach 93 when there is many enemies on screen , and in fur Mark the temps hit 99 after 5 min of testing.

That is definitely too hot. This is a new computer right? I assume
You're not playing on a bed sheet or something and the vents are all clear, so I'd check the paste on the CPU/GPU and redo that. At least repaste the GPU, something's definitely going on there.

If it's new why don't you just return it? Don't forget that you have a warranty. :D

If it's still under warranty I wouldn't bother doing it yourself. Just send it back.

It sounds like the factory thermal paste was applied wrong, the heatsink is not contacting your card properly, or you just got a bad card. Have you opened up your laptop and looked to see if anything is loose? I don't know what you can do besides return it and suffer the wait :(

I have the 670M myself, and I PEAK at 77c with an average of 72c while running Diablo 3 for hours at a time. Granted I have IC thermal paste and the cooling on the NP9170 might be a bit better, but 90's!

notify the reseller first before you do anything, you don't want to give the reseller the excuses to blame you for the temp problem.

Listen to the guys...this is way too hot. You need a repaste...and there may be a problem with the heatsink (either bad heatpipe or it is warped leading to bad contact and high temps).

No, Furmark can push it plenty higher. You mentioned seeing temps in the 90's while playing Diablo 3, and I have played the same game with the same GPU so I thought I would let you know what temps I see when playing.

Any more progress on your issue? Are you returning it?

yeah i shipped it back although the shipping cost back to USA was painful , the company didnt admit it is a big issue right away , they said it could be a wrong reading from the software however they said they will look into it , the wireless card wasnt working as well , can you test furmark for 5 minutes and lemme know how high it is getting??
