Does anyone here get a gunky mouse after like an hour of gaming? I do all the time. If I play a game for like an hour or two every day my mouse will be so gunked up after an hour it's so disgusting. The next time I'll go to sit down and grab the mouse it feel all rough and bumpy and it's really nasty. I almost always wash my hands especially before using my notebook too. Anybody else have this gunky mouse disease too? I doubt there is a cure for my curse but I was wondering if I am the only one.

I feel your pain. it appears wherever my fingers touch. I think it's a combination of oil and skin. It only happens where there's like... hard shiney plastic though.
-
It has never happened to me.
-
Yea it's pretty nasty. Maybe if i stop cleaning for a day some microscopic civilization will began to grow on there. They can play video games when I sleep at night.
I've also noticed guitar strings that get gunked up easily too. It's amazing some of the stuff I sc**** of those metal strings. Reminds me how large of a portion of mass I lose each day. -

Since the top surface of my mouse is smooth, it feels like that too after using my mouse for extended periods of time, so I clean it with a few q-tips.

Hello fellow penguin,
That really doesn't sound nice, was it an expensive mouse?
If I were you I'd invest in a better one, that doesnt have a gunk farm on top of it. -
Omg i thought i was the only one. It's so gross when I game for an hour and find the crevices between the buttons on my gaming mouse jammed with dead skin cells and oil. Usually I have to scoop it out with small pieces of paper. EW

lol i too have this "problem" when i play cod4 for like 1 hour and there would be "stuff" on the two buttons on the mouse.
-
shower much? LOL just joking, never had this problem either..hmm

I play on .10s if that changes anything but I would expect something to happen; I live in ultra-humid Louisiana

Dude, stop using lotions for your hands
In any case, you might want to consider lowering the temperature at your hand level with a neighbouring fan or some chick to blow on your hands(I just had to say that, but don`t think pink thongs here) or better yet, move in the basement.
My brother has this syndrom, whatever he touches becomes greasy and mutant like, so what he has to do is shower daily, use a specific shower gel to reduce greasiness and try not to sweat to much by not overdressing...
But the chick blowing cool air on the hand sounds more apealling, don`t you think? -
i think it is more a combinationsn of sweat and dirt. i get it on my work mouse, my w,a,s,d keys, and my mouse at home after extended use. i think its just from sweat though. i use my fingernail to sc**** it off.
now i wonder if work will employ a chick to blow on my hands all day -
You`re catching on quick

I don't have that problem at all.
-
I got this issue with my keyboard and mouse on my desktop too, it's been fine on the laptop though.
-
Maybe you all need to wash your hands more often or turn the thermostat down. Honestly, gunk shouldn't be accumulating anywhere on your mouse or keyboard. Also, don't eat while using the comoputer, it'll help a lot.

Yea my mouse is very smooth on the surface and I'm notorious for having sweating hands like an sob
-
how often do you wash your hands? i do after the can, after eating, and after i am with the pets (or anything else along those lines). probably about the same as anybody else. i shower every morning and during summer have a shower at night as well. how much do you want me to do?????????? i would say i would be about as clean as the average bear.......

Well I can sympathize with the sweating because when I play soccer (every day) I sweat like no other. It's ridiculous. I don't sweat when I'm on the computer. Oh well, everybody is different
