    i replace the 500gb 7200rpm to 750gb 5400rpm hard drive. will there be a signicant change in performance

    it will be noticeable but im not sure by how much. i suppose it will also depend on what your spec is.

    Should be similar, although HDDs do not affect gaming performance, only load times.

    It will affect read/write times. how fast the platter moves changes how fast it picks up/finds/ and places data onto the hard drive. It affects boot time, game load times and moving files from and to your HDD. I've done HDD tests between HDD swaps of a 5400rpm to 7200rpm then to a 10k rpm drive and there is roughly a 20-30% difference at each speed.

    If you don't use the laptop for a lot of gaming or Windows load times aren't a big deal then you won't see an "OMG this is so noticable" difference.
